Welcome to The Edelstein Center
for Social Research
The Edelstein Center for Social Research supports research, conferences,
courses for policy-makers, awards and publications that stimulate
the elaboration, evaluation and dissemination of new conceptual frameworks,
public policies and civil society projects.
Currently our main priorities are:
a) To promote scientific research and public debate in Brazil and
Latin America in order to meet the challenges of democratic consolidation
with social justice and to increase the capacity of the region to
engage in the international debate on globalization agendas.
b) To support the worldwide dissemination of Latin American social
scientists intellectual production.
c) To strengthen the infra-structures of knowledge distribution
and its interface with the institutions of civil society and
the political system.
The Center maintains an internal research unit. To advance its
activities it seeks to associate itself with other national and
international institutions.
Since it chooses partners to carry out it's projects, the Center
does not solicit projects. Proposals for partnerships will be considered,
however the Center does not guarantee the evaluation of these projects
in a predetermined period.
